Fitness consultations
The fitness consultation is a complimentary session that we encourage our members to utilize. This session is designed to educate each member on how to properly use the equipment that we have.
This consultation is a personal session with one of our certified and degreed personal trainers. This is your opportunity to sit down with a fitness professional and discuss your specific goals and design your individual program. The fitness consultation consists of the following components:

Health history:
The trainer will talk with you about your past workout history (if any) and any injuries or health problems that we may need to be aware of before starting an exercise program.

Goals:
What would you like to get out of Fitness One? Why did you join Fitness One? Where do you start? How do you start?
After answering some of these questions, a plan will be designed for achieving your goals and an estimate of how long it should take will be given. We will discuss activities that you have done in the past, activities you enjoy, and activities that you do not enjoy. If you do not enjoy your workout or you do not see results, you will not continue with your program. Consistency is the key to any workout!

Cardiovascular:
During your fitness consultation, you will have the opportunity to learn how to use any of our cardiovascular equipment. We want you to feel comfortable using any machine that you desire. We encourage our members to cross-train with a variety of cardiovascular machines. We will determine your optimal Target Heart Rate Training Zone based on your goals and current fitness level.

Resistance training:
We also encourage our members to participate in both cardiovascular and strength training activities as part of their workouts. Resistance training is a very important part of any balanced workout regimen to not only tone muscles, but to increase bone density as well. Safety is one of our main concerns when working with resistance exercises.
We have a full line of dumbbells and free weights to enhance your workout. We will determine the proper number of sets and repetitions for your particular workout.

Stretching:
One area that is most often neglected in a workout program is stretching. This is probably one of the most important components to a well balanced and successful workout plan. In order to achieve your goals, you need to stay healthy. Proper stretching can decrease risk of injury, increase range of motion, and decrease soreness.

** Power Surge - This hour-long cardio class combines the principles of circuit training, bootcamp, and kickboxing for a total body workout that will leave you feeling empowered and motivated!**
